A few days ago, it was learned from the National Industry and Informatization Work Conference that in 2016, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology implemented the "Belt and Road" strategy to promote the telecommunications industry to go global. Industry insiders believe that submarine optical cable companies are expected to take the lead in benefiting.
The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology stated that in 2016, it will implement the "One Belt One Road" strategy, make full use of the BRICS, Shanghai Cooperation, RCEP and other multilateral and bilateral mechanisms to optimize the policy environment for Chinese companies to open up overseas markets, solve practical difficulties, and support basic telecommunications companies and Internet companies to increase Efforts will be made to develop the international market, and accelerate the layout and construction of international sea and land cables, international entrances and exits, and overseas POP points.
Promoting the construction of international sea and land cables and other communication networks is an important means to improve the level of international communication interconnection. The submarine optical fiber cable transmits about 100% of the entire international network traffic, and is the main carrier of global information and communication, and it is also a new high-profit growth point for my country's optical fiber enterprises.
On the whole, my country's international submarine optical cable layout is not perfect, the number of landings is small, and the international submarine cable resources in the trans-Pacific region with the largest international business volume in my country are particularly tight, and overseas networks cannot fully meet the needs of international communications development. Compared with China's current international status, the three major operators have not made the mainland of China a network hub in the Asia-Pacific and even the world. There are still many shortcomings and areas that need to be improved.
